Guest knv Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Trip meter of my 1997 Galaxy shows 0 every time I start driving. The problem occurred after I installed an alarm system but I don't know if the problem is related to that. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Thank You! KNV Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I suspect that your alarm system is immobilising the power feed to the trip meter memory. As it started with the install, it is almost certainly related. Quote
Guest JIMSTDI Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 does anything on the fuel computer work if so then what?? all the best james Quote
Guest knv Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 When the alarm was istalled I did not cut any other wires than the starter solenoid wire from the ignition switch. Is it possible that the problem ic caused because I have touched many wires with test lamp? I found out that the trip meter shows 0 immediatelly after the ignition key is removed and then put back. I think the alarm system itself cannot cause the problem. Instead of that I may have damaged something during the installation. I just don't know what I have done wrong. KNV Quote
